Morning Purr

CatechismThis morning, as I sat on the sofa to say the morning office, Col. Sybil McButtons came and curled up on my lap. (He's a cat, in case y'all are wondering.) Although I do my best to focus for morning prayer, I just didn't have the heart to kick him off. So he and I said the office together, me out loud and Sybil quietly to himself.

Quietly...except for some crazy mad purring, which he doesn't normally do without petting. I guess he really likes the Venite and the Lord's Prayer. His tail lashed a bit during the Psalm, but then it was number 78, and he always gets testy about the people's disobedience in the wilderness.

Perhaps he was just studying his (wait for it) Cat-echism.
