God bless Londoners. I don't know if it's the British stiff upper lip, or remnants of the generation that withstood the Blitz, but they stole the victory from the terrorists. They refused to be terrified, refused to panic. Without terror the attackers are just killers. Sitting in a pub in England a few years back, I made the following note in my travel journal. This nation is tough - solid people who stood strong when it would have been very easy to collapse. There's a sense that the British people, if called upon, simply shrug and shoulder the burden. God bless Londoners, and speed the souls of the lost to everlasting peace. |
