So, So Crazy!

Oh dear...

I'm afraid that the neighbours are insane!

Someone in this building, it would seem, has stolen a package of books that I'd ordered (for Amy) off Amazon.ca. The tracking feature on Canada Post's web site claims that the package was delivered to the recipient...it was not. I called customer service and all indications in their system are that the package made it safe and sound...it did not. The most logical explanation - one of the neighbours in this building nabbed it, either as it came in or as it sat in the hallway.

Bastards.

And now it appears that the dripping ceiling in the laundry room, a dripping that pours over a light fixture and onto the machines (electrical fire hazard anyone?) comes from the bathtub in the apartment above. That apartment belongs to The Gnome, the odd woman who barely speaks. Apparently she lets her tub overflow, sending buckets of water onto the floor and seeping through to the laundry. That she either doesn't notice or doesn't care should provide some insight...so crazy!

She won't let the landlord or his sons in to repair or examine anything, and they're not motivated enough to bother with any long-term solution. They belong to the school of "if it ain't on fire or collapsing, it ain't broken, so don't fix it." If it's good for a week, it's good in their book.

I'm getting a PO Box so that I can receive packages without so much stress, (see my difficulty with Purolator, scroll down to number 8) and I guess I'll drag the laundry up the street to the laundromat.

Crazy, thieving neighbours.
