A study of obesity was just published and one of the conclusions, the one the media got all excited about, was that air conditioning lead to weight gain. The logic goes as follows - hot day, AC on, all comfortable and cool, who the heck wants to go outside and exercise? To which I say, "Well, duh." Now there's a program on TV saying scientists have found that people project human emotions onto animals even though animals are incapable of our level of emotional complexity. Apparently not all cocked heads mean curious confusion. Again, "Duh." Who gets paid to do these stating-the-obvious surveys? Really, give me a few thousand dollars and I'll tell you something you already know. "Study shows tired people more likely to fall asleep." Cha-ching! "Study suggests wood comes from trees." Cha-ching! "Study shows studies are useless." Cha-ching! Speaking of tired, when does CPE end? Oh, yeah...July 21st. Sigh. |
